No-gi simply means you don't have to wear any specific clothing. Suggested to wear rash guards in no gi classes to prevent mat burns on knees/elbows. Avoid Zippers, buckles, and holy/torn clothes.

This is a SPORT Jiu Jitsu class, where we will focus on creating scenarios where we score "Points" by advancing to dominant positions, and Submitting our opponents with Joint Locks/Chokes. We will not be focused on Self Defense Scenarios in Sport classes, but it will still greatly benefit you to understand how to control another human body.

We will be focusing on 1 Virtue each month to create mindsets of growth, cooperation, and self control. For Example sometimes the techniques may "hurt" or be uncomfortable and we will try to align those classes to the Virtue of Grit. They will become more comfortable with being uncomfortable over time but as with EVERY skill on earth they need time, and repetitions. Don't allow them to quit if it's "hard." That is the entire point of Martial Arts and the skills they learn here will be carried forward into adulthood.

"Un-Coachable children soon become unemployable adults."

I want all of our kids to win at life more than I want them to win on the mat.

Nogi simulates grappling in scenarios where it is difficult to hold onto your opponent using clothing/material. Closer in relation to wrestling, nogi grappling focuses on movement and positioning to maintain control of your opponent.

This is a SPORT/Self Defense mixed Jiu Jitsu class, where we will focus on creating scenarios where we score "Points" by advancing to dominant positions, and Submitting our opponents with Joint Locks/Chokes, while keeping self Defense in mind.
